Update 4/7 - Here are two videos from yours truly. The first is a tutorial for how to set up Sight Reading Factory. If you have already done so you can skip to the second. The second video is the first our series labeled "Sight Read Together! (SRT)" where I'll be going through sight reading examples and you can follow along. The first one is a level 2 rhythm exercise.

Update 4/3 - Smart music is now in the Meraki store on your iPads! Download the apps and follow the instructions under #3 below to get set up!!! This is a fantastic program, and there's no reason for you not to take advantage of it now that it's free! PS. great job on your Jeopardy win today 8th graders ;) We'll see if you can keep your streak going next week.
Update 4/1 - There will be a full 6-8 grade zoom meeting this Friday at 11:00am. We will be splitting into teams and have a jeopardy style showdown with a custom jeopardy I am working on. If you are able to make it, bring your competitive spirit! The zoom ID will be on the lesson sign up sheet!
Update 3/30 - I'm currently trying to get it so you can download the Smartmusic app on your iPads. I didn't realize you were unable to access the web version on iPad. The subscription below currently works well on computers, so if your parents have one use that. When the iPad app gets approved I will let you know so you can all try it!

Update: 3/24 - I'll be hosting a "zoom.us" video test tomorrow (3/25) from 11-noon. This is going to be my first test of the program to see what it's capable of. It will be open to everyone in MMS Band, so jump on for a bit and say hi! Maybe we'll grab some instruments and test out virtual band. At the very least it will be a learning experience for all of us! I'll post the number to log in and some instructions on how it works tomorrow. See you tomorrow!

www.musictheory.net- don't even need instruments for this one. click exercises at the top and start checking out the theory. This is a fantastic tool for note identification aka getting really fast at reading notes.
www.youtube.com- Yes, it's youtube. type in your instrument and "play along", or type in a song you like, and then your instrument and you may get lucky finding a play along track to a piece you like.
https://theonlinemetronome.com/free-online-tuner-for-musicians.html Here is a free tuner you can use while you practice. This website also has a metronome. Make sure you allow the page to use your microphone. I am unsure if it works with iPads, but it works well on computers. If you have a smartphone, there are tons of free apps that also have metronomes and tuners on them. Don't just tune your instrument once, leave the tuner on and start checking your notes as you play.
